International researchers at the French Naval Academy Research Institute (IRENAv)
This year the French Naval Academy Research Institute (IRENav) welcomes several international researchers and PhD students from other continents such as Asia, Africa and South America.
Among our visitors are :
-* Pr Maria Andrea Rodriguez from the University of Concepción, Chile. Her stay is part of an international collaboration funded by Ecos Sud, a bilateral program between France and South American countries. This project consists in several exchanges of researchers between the University of Concepción and the Irenav. The project is oriented towards the Modelling of spatio-temporal geographical information. More precisely, the project brings a direct support to the PhD work of Géraldine del Mondo, the viva of whom will take place at the French Naval Academy on October, 14th.
-* Jingya Yan is a Phd Student from Hong Kong. She is preparing a co-supervised PhD between the GIS group of IRENAv and the Polytechnic University of Hong Kong. This PhD is funded by the Brittany Region Council, the French consulate in Hong Kong and the PolyU. Her research work looks forward a feature based generalisation of the seabed on nautical charts.
-* Dr Jingang Han is a lecturer in the Department of Electrical Engineering at the Shanghai Maritime University . His stay at the IRENav consists in a 6 months postdoctoral study about a project of modelling and design of an hybrid energy architecture for an experimental clean energy boat in partnership with Dr J-F Charpentier. In particular he will use the Lestrheol, a solar boat designed at the IRENav.
-* Youcef Attaf is a teaching assistant at the University of Tizi Ouzou in Algeria. He is preparing a PhD, co-supervised by Dr A Boudraa on the Image processing and analysis based on a AM/FM model and its application to sonar, satellite and medical imaging.
