INTERMAR – PONTIFEX

La première réunion de travail du projet européen INTERMAR a eu lieu récemment à l’Universidade Católica Portuguesa à Viseu sous la direction du Professeur Filomena Capucho.

INTERMAR est un projet prometteur qui regroupe 18 institutions universitaires et militaires/maritimes qui ensemble vont créer et tester des modules d’enseignement en compréhension interculturelle dans le monde maritime.

Ce projet est un complément au réseau Columbus entre les académies navales européennes par l’échange de pratiques pédagogiques et aura pour "cible" des cadets, des officiers, du personnel administratif ou autre dans un milieu maritime lors d’une formation initiale ou continue.

L’École Navale est partenaire du projet INTERMAR et y est représenté par madame Fiona Simoneau-Byrne, responsable du département des langues.

The first kick-off meeting for the European project INTERMAR recently took place at the Universidade Católica Portuguesa in Viseu under the direction of Dr Filomena Capucho.

INTERMAR’s goal is to develop cultural awareness, knowledge, understanding and competences for those working together in marine and military contexts.

This is an exciting project that regroups 18 European institutions : university researchers, who will create and provide tools through modules in inter-cultural comprehension in the maritime world, and military/maritime academies, who will help in the creation and the testing of this teaching material.

This project is a complement to the Columbus network between European naval academies since teaching methods could be shared and "targets" will be cadets, officers, administrative personnel and support staff, who require this input at either initial training or continuing professional development stages.

The French Naval Academy is represented by Fiona Simoneau-Byrne, Head of the Foreign Languages Department at the Ecole Navale.
